Pronovias

The Bridal Boutique is enthusiastically awaiting the delivery of the 2011 gowns from Pronovias.  It was a matter of luck, or what I would like to refer to as destiny, that brought the line and the boutique together.
Pronovias is an international company based out of a location just outside Barcelona Spain.  This is a family run and operated business that has been thriving since 1962. The company entered the US market in the 1990’s and is present in 75 countries around the world.
Their design team presents an amazing selection of gowns each year that stand on the driving principles of the company: innovation, change, internationalism and the commitment to designing and delivering a finely crafted wedding gown.
It is our pleasure to share some of the upcoming gowns from the 2011 collection.

The above represent just a small sample of what the Pronovias line has to offer. Plese visit their website at http://www.pronovias.com/.

Until next time,

Buying From a Reputable Bridal Shop

I understand that times are tough for many families and it is natural to ensure you are getting the best price on your bridal gown.  With this understanding, let me caution you and let you in on a few trade secrets.
It is important to know that most designers require bridal shops to sign very strict contracts that govern the sale practice and pricing of their products.  Designers do this to protect the integrity of their line and to ensure that the product is not undervalued.
When brides find “the dress” it is common to call local retailers to find out the cost of the gown.  Reputable authorized dealers will not go below the lowest MSRP price set by the designer.  If the bridal shop does agree to sell you a gown at a discount price, buyers beware.  You are either dealing with an unscrupulous person, someone who is not authorized to carry or sell the line or a shop that is in financial trouble.
Some of the worst stories I have heard concern brides who purchased their gowns through on-line stores.  Most designers forbid their gowns to be sold on-line, so if you purchase a gown on-line at a significant discount, there is a reason.  Recently, we had a bride bring in a gown that she bought on-line.  The gown was sold as a Maggie Sottero, but I have never seen a Maggie Sottero gown with no boning, no crinoline and so poorly constructed.  This bride was devastated that her gown needed extensive alterations to make it wearable.
If you are on a budget, stay within your means by buying the best gown within your price range. Instead of discounting our bridal gowns, we have monthly promotions that range from the shop covering your tax, free veil or in-store credit that can be used to purchase your accessories.  Take advantage of promotions and consider shopping sample sales.
Sample sale gowns are sold as is (size, color and condition) and normally consist of gowns that have been discontinued or have not produced sales for the shop.  These gowns are normally marked anywhere from 25% to 75% off their suggested MSRP price.
It is possible to be a savvy smart bride. Until next time,

2011 Bridal Fashion Trends

Each fall, bridal designers launch their new designs for spring.  After recently attending market, I wanted to share the fabulous trends forthcoming:

Texture:  Texture is all the rave and continues to permeate the runway.  Accordion ruffles, flowers, petals. feathers and three demension looks adorn gowns from every designer.  From ornate to bold, this trend continues to evolve

Belts and Sashes:  A belt or sash can change the look of any gown.  Flower sashes have become popular and add that hint of whimsy, especially when used in an unexpected color; like black.

Straps: Although strapless remains a staple, there is a noticeable increase in straps.  Single straps are often embellished with beading, flowers and braiding.

Short:  I love the new short gowns, especially the tea lenghts that are reminiscent of the 50's era. They are fun and flirty and are perfect for garden weddings or less formal affairs.

Lace:  Lace screams romance and what bride doesn't want a little romance?  What I love most is the return to the classic look of lace with higher necklines, key hole backs and full lace backed gowns.

Cake cutters:  Okay, these cocktail length gowns have often been referred to as reception dresses, but as you will see the new reference fits the new look.  Who doesn't want to have fun at their reception in one of these dresses?

Remember, no matter what trend or style you choose, stay true to yourself. Until next time,
